When it comes to gaming, knowing how your computer perform is a must. I always like to keep an eye on my framerates and hardware temperatures. “MSI Afterburner” is a software which lets you monitor your hardware in real-time and also tweak your GPU(Graphics Processing Unit)settings.

Let me guide you on how to setup MSI Afterburner on your PC.

Step 1:

Download “MSI Afterburner”

After downloading the software proceed to install it using the recommended settings. Make sure “RivaTuner Statistics Server” is enabled.

Step 1
After installation

Step 2:

Click on the cog wheel which represents “settings” and next click the “Monitoring” tab . Now click on the small square with 3 dots on it next to “Active hardware monitoring graphs”. Now make sure that there are 3 ticks on “AIDA64.dll”, “CPU.dll” and “GPU.dll”. If not click on the tick next to it and click “OK”.

Step 3

Step 3:

Now you should be able to see multiple graphs on the “Graph” section under the “Monitoring” tab. Click on the tick of the graph that you need, and again click on the checkbox next to “Show in On-Screen Display”(do this for every graph), doing so will result in a statement saying “in OSD” under “Properties” next to that specific graph. Next click on “Apply”.(Refer the image below)

These are the graphs that I recommend you to tick ✓:

  • GPU1 temperature
  • GPU1 usage
  • GPU1 memory usage
  • GPU1 core clock
  • GPU1 temp limit , power limit, voltage limit
  • CPU temperature
  • CPU usage
  • CPU clock
  • Framerate
  • RAM usage

You can tick on any graph that you like to be monitored.

Step 4

It’s Done!

Now you can monitor the graphs in real-time. You can click on “DETACH” to get a better view of the graphs.

You will also be able to see the On-Screen Display when playing games.

Happy Gaming!
